I am a current Form 7 student from a renowned band 1 EMI school at Mid-levels and I attained A and B in English and English literature respectively. I am a fluent English speaker WITHOUT local accent and have 1-year experience in giving private tutor lessons(English) to F1-F4 students. I apply effective methods to improve students' pronunciation, speaking, listening, grammar and writing. Lessons can be conducted in English or Cantonese. Since I have completed HKAL and finished school, lesson time can be flexible.

Nice to meet you! I am Jamie, currently a Post-graduate student studying LLMArbDR after graduating from HKU LLB programme from which I was admitted via Early Admission Scheme (EAS). Having studied in the UK for 7 years, since the age of 11, I have a firm grasp of English as well as understanding of western culture. Cultural references, slangs, accents, or other knowledge that pertains to England or the US, I know of due to interacting almost exclusively with local British people and their media. This knowledge is something I personally hold dear and something I would love to share with others. I was fortunate enough to study in a prestigious boarding school, but the road for learning English was still a difficult one; from being in the bottom set for English, struggling to interact with the local British girls around me, to fighting my way to the top set and receiving English awards in my capacity as a normal student; from being identified as a foreign speaker who cannot speak well, to not being regarded as a foreign student but accepted as one of their own kind eventually, and so I do understand what it takes to improve one's English skills. I have extensive experience with tutoring; tutoring since the age of 17. Creative writing, essay writing, speaking, improving accents, public speaking, reading, understanding cultural references etc. are all my areas of expertise. I also have experience helping students prepare for their Cambridge exams such as PET and CAE, as well as IELTS and TOEFL. I have attained the highest grade for CAE and the grades of A* for English language and English literature, and have also attained A*s for French and Italian GCSEs, so if you would like to learn some beginners level French or Italian, those classes are also available. I am interested in, and have investigated into, many fields of studies, including philosophy, psychology, logic, law, languages, linguistics, music and history. Knowledge is something I am enthusiastic about and imparting knowledge is also what I love.
